The World at Large

The descending sun spooks me, As it reminds me of impending doom. The fate of the world hanging on  the joker wearing the crown. A game of deceit and endless conspiracies, Rigged to make the hidden emerge strong. ‘Come one come all’ The sign bellows. Not one peasant decided to enjoy the menu. They are sinking to fall in their own broken ship. All towing to head into the dark abyss. We enjoy playing the game when it is, Someone else who’s head will twirl if they miss. But when the trigger loads and the target is us. When the bullet wants to grab hold on us. We run so far, without a hitch. We run to never stop to check. What happened to those who tried to save us? What happened to the joker who longs for love? What happened to the magician, is he still sick? The old man, next door, did he get his tip? The world of our species amuses me. To see the world move by so cheap. The moon is now out. It winks at me. The stars shining bright following me. The world beyond our species, Fascinates

A lady's ordeal...

A lady smirked in front of the devil, Angering him beyond levels, ‘O little maiden, you must tremble before my wrath, for I am here to put an end to your path.’ The lady’s smirk grew into a smile, For which the devil’s fury turned into an atrocious cry, ‘O maiden don’t test me, you are destined to die’ His voice bellowed with power but was no match for her laughter, As she went on with glee, dishonouring the reaper. Red rings of fire appeared to adorn him, Wings of jet black slowly caressed him. The lady stopped, with not a tremble in her eyes. ‘O mortal, what is the secret to your endless blue skies? People tremble with fear as they think of me, I appear as the vicious venom in most of their dreams. Yet here I see a mere woman, Shadowing me with such might and glee” The lady replied with a bold voice. ‘You can only just take my life, not my will, not my legacy,  and not my hope for a better generation of humanity.’ - Mahathi.S

Slow down my dear...

Slowly and steadily gaining speed, with patience and perfection and so much greed. Slowly and steadily burning the night,' putting off flames wherever in sight/ Oh!, you ruffle my hair as you pass by, without a home or a doubt in where to pass the night, in every turn, you gain power, power to rule, wreck or devour./ You were once just a breeze, that no one cared for, then you grew into a monstrosity, with damages, no one could pay for, slow down little one. slow down your might. What's the rush to turn into a cyclone by night?/ Slow down little one, slow down your might your just a single breeze on a gusty day, my dear/. - Mahathi.S

The edge of the world

I’m standing on the edge of the world, With my eyes fixated beyond the unknown, Startling figures of milky white, Rummaging through the great black night. I feel summoned by nature’s power, Under the grasp of an illusion like no other, Thoughts of victory are paraded by failure, As my eyes move away from the creature. Pillars of support and eternal wonder, Stand there praising my courage and valour, But I guess it’s just pictures in my head, Or maybe it’s what they actually said. The edge of the world with all its mysticism, Shows me films of gallant heroism, Through the raging battles of man and power, It showed me places where I felt ruptured. It’s power so mighty yet it stands still, Showing pages of history that no one else will. -Mahathi.S

Hare Krishna!

Those blissful black eyes, With a tinge of love and heartfelt lines. Luscious locks made from the dark, embrace the universe in gracious sparks. As blue as can be, with a tinge of ink made from the deep blue sea. His voice , an epitome of love calls out to me! Sitting, standing or lying asleep, His face glows with wisdom and purity. “Radhe” he says, His words flowing with glee. The man who made the world, kneels before his queen. Her face defines ravishing, Her mind as audacious as can be. They dance to his melodies and most flawless beats. Ras Leela, the highlight, the evergreen story. Of a god and his goddess playing elegantly. Oh mighty creator, I kneel before your power. Words defy me as I search for your mighty valour. Radhe Krishna, is all that can be said. Radhe Krishna, Radhe Radhe✨❤️ -Mahathi.S

Fairytales..

Roaming the monoliths and statues of history, I find myself staring blindly, At the colourful reagents that splatter itself, Onto legacies of fairies and shoes made by elves. They said there lived a girl of ravishing beauty, Sleeping soundly with a curse of agony. Or how about the one with the seven tiny men, A tale of a princess escaping from her hell. They said mirrors could talk and teapots could fly. They weaved fictions of beasts and crystal slippers abandoned at night. A pumpkin to a carriage or a mermaid without a voice. I wish I could have heard more about their lives. I wonder sometimes of all the things in our life, If one ‘Bippity Boppity boo’ will soon change time. I wonder sometimes if I could stay in a hidden castle, Where magic is eternal and reality is not so common. In times of such mass death and despair, I wonder if I could disappear to a more happier land. But what can I do? For there is no magic godmother, Just me, my words and my imagined world of blooming flowers
